OEC: The Core of Care in the Outdoors

Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC) is the cornerstone of NSP training, equipping patrollers with the skills to deliver safe, effective medical care in outdoor environments. Designed to meet the medical and educational needs of NSP members and partner organizations, the OEC program focuses on patient assessment, stabilization, and extrication—ensuring patrollers are prepared to respond when it matters most.

Outdoor First Care (OFC): First Aid for Hosts on the Hill and Trail

The Outdoor First Care (OFC) course is part of the OEC program, tailored for individuals interested in becoming mountain or bike hosts. This course provides essential training in basic first aid and outdoor patient care, preparing participants to assist effectively in recreational settings.
